Punch cards and lanyards.

Dear Parents, Please make sure that your students bring their lanyards with their hall pass and punch card to school each day. It should be on a ring in their binder until they get to school and then they will put it on in homeroom.

Please check your students punch card each night.

Thanks in advance for your help in getting our students to remember this procedure.

A great first week!

Students and Parents,

What a great week! I am so impressed with our 6th grade students. I want to take this time to thank the parents for sending in supplies to the classroom. It is so great, and I can't say enough how much I appreciate your support. I also want to let you know that we have begun to roll out laptops and the students will benefit from this, but it may take me a few weeks to get up and running. If you got a laptop and your student is unable to login, we will attempt to fix this issue on tuesday. Please encourage your student to be organized.

Social Studies: We are going over geographic terms and studying maps. Please have your students look over their maps and remember their continents and oceans. I will be checking notebooks and making sure the students are following through on classroom expectations.

Ela: In ELA (English) We are studying many things. First we began with our weekly jumpstart and taught the students how to complete the vocabulary cartoon of the day. I was super happy about how well our students were able to work in groups on their main idea/theme cards.

Next week we are going to start with elements of fiction and begin reading a short story in ELA. We will continue our vocabulary as well.

Having a great week.

I have been having a great week getting to know our Sixth grade students. They are quickly understanding the routine and getting to where they are supposed to be.  Parents please remind students to keep track of their belongings throughout the day and continue to encourage them to ask if they have any questions about where to go or what building their classes are in. They will adjust quickly! Have a great day tomorrow.

FEE Turn in

Parents please specify on paper when sending in checks for fees specifically what fees you are paying.

Thanks for coming to Open House.

It was so nice to meet all of you at open house! It was great to meet my students and their parents. I look forward to working with all of you this year.

In the coming days we will be familiarizing students with Swansboro Middle School, class procedures and school wide procedures. Please take time each night to discuss the things that have happened at school. Talking about these items will help students remember them. Please encourage your students to read at least 15-20 minutes each night. It's so important!
